Advocating for Exploited Youth
Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.
Psalm 127:3
"Human trafficking is the fastest-growing organized crime activity in the United States. Estimating 250,000 children per year are victims..."
As reported by the Vermont Homeland Security Unit, ".....A child goes missing every 40 seconds in the U.S., over 2,100 per day. In excess of 800,000 children are reported missing each year; another 500,000 go missing without ever being reported" - Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP)
Let them be children
There is hope.
“Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you that in Heaven their angels do always behold the face of My Father who is in Heaven.
Matthew 18:10
While the statistics are overwhelming, there are Christian-based organizations and ministries offering help to reach and rescue these beautiful souls.
These are teams of brave men and women willing to risk their lives by engaging with cartels, traffickers, and smugglers while also leading expeditions into the most remote locations, jungles, and even major high-traffic city streets where these crimes happen right out in the open, here in the United States and all over the world.
One group in particular is leading the fight by establishing strategic partnerships to identify, rescue, and provide safe housing for these children. Additionally, they provide Christian-based counseling to help heal the trauma they have endured. Their rescued children have gone on to lead wonderful lives.
"While we have a team of drop-dead, sold-out Jesus freaks that go to these places and do whatever it takes, we mostly partner with indigenous ministries and Jesus-loving leaders in governments we can work with to locate these kids. We make a plan for how to house, feed and protect them first, then work with locals to extract them. Once we get them in our care, we continue to fund and grow these safe houses, schools, pregnancy clinics and children’s “forever” homes for as long as it takes."
